Landscape
The key drivers for the landscape proposals have been to make the best use of and retain the existing established landscaping and to create an accessible and inclusive environment.
The landscape strategy includes:
- Habitat Areas – located around the edges of the site and around the existing established trees these areas will have less activity and will be protected to promote natural habitats
- Managed grass and hard surface play areas – these will form the principal areas for pupils to enjoy outdoor recreation.
- Shrub planting and planting beds – to the edges of the site, around the parking areas and defining the pupil and visitor entrances shrub planting will provide a soft edge to these areas.
- Formal hard landscaping – an alternative hard surface material will define the pedestrian areas and visitor and pupil entrances within the site
